The Oppo A53 is an affordable phone that packs a lot of impressive features and updated software. Its punch-hole display, 90 Hz screen, triple camera setup, and ColorOS 7 perks make it an exciting option for those looking to buy a phone at this price point.

The primary camera is a 13MP f/2.2 sensor with a 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens. It takes decent shots, especially in good lighting conditions.

Camera

The camera on the Oppo A53 is decent for a phone for this price. The 13MP primary lens is backed by a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor, which works well.

Photos from the primary lens look good and are pleasing to the eye with punchy colors and some detail in bright scenes. In low light however, quality suffers, and shots are often noisy.

The selfie camera, on the other hand is a bit better, with color accuracy and detail reasonably good too. Excellent software features, including HDR support, Dazzle Color, and an AI beautification mode back.

Display

A display is a critical component of any smartphone. A good one will make the device easier to use and more enjoyable. OPPO’s A53 comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel that has a resolution of 1600×720 pixels.

While the display is not the sharpest in its class, it should deliver a quality picture and provide a comfortable viewing experience. The show is also enhanced by a 90Hz refresh rate which should improve smoothness when scrolling through content or playing games.

OPPO has done a fine job creating a design that feels premium for the price. The phone’s rear is based on what it calls ‘3D iridescent wave design’, with a subtle range of pleats that reflect the light in effect reminiscent of tumbling ocean waves.

Battery

Battery life is a big concern for any smartphone user. This is why finding a device that will last long without requiring you to charge it often is essential.

The Oppo A53 packs a massive 5000mAh battery that will last you a day of use on average. This is thanks to the power-saving CPU, HD+ display, and ColorOS 7 optimizations.

The cameras on the Oppo A53 are good enough for a budget model, but we would have liked to see better low-light performance and a night mode. However, there are plenty of other features to make up for this – including a dazzle color mode that blurs the background in portrait shots and AI beautification that smooths your facial features.

Software

If you like to take photos, the Oppo A53 Camera Review has some of the best features available today. Its 13MP primary camera is complemented by a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens, so you can capture more detail and create better photos.

The resulting photos from the primary camera are pretty decent, particularly during bright light conditions. It also has HDR support and a dedicated portrait mode, but night shots aren’t much to write home about, which is a shame.

The camera software is also exceptionally well-stocked and has some excellent features. You can adjust your exposure, use HDR and Dazzle Color to enhance the colors in your photos, and switch on AI beautification.
