HealthPartners Review – Benefits and Requirements for a Job at HealthPartners
HealthPartners is an integrated nonprofit healthcare provider and health insurance company located in Bloomington, Minnesota. The company provides care and health insurance to individuals and families and health education for the community. Founded in 1921, HealthPartners has provided healthcare services to needy people since its inception. With a focus on value-based care, research, and education, HealthPartners strives to become a preferred health plan for Minnesotans.
Value-based care model
HealthPartners has joined forces with technology innovator Acclivity Health to help transform care for the seriously ill. Together, they will leverage real-time data and actionable insights to help healthcare providers create value-based care plans and reduce the total cost of care. The partnership will help Medicare Advantage members access affordable health care and improve health outcomes.
The value-based care model is a highly flexible system of care delivery. It can be offered at academic medical centers, community-based organizations, in-home settings, and virtually. And it addresses a variety of social issues that are currently facing healthcare. For example, Massachusetts General Hospital recently extended Allies to Salem and introduced a new diabetes program, Path to Lifestyle Change.
Medical Education
The HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research (HPIER) is the clinical learning arm of the health system. The institute has two divisions: Health Professional Education, which administers the region’s emergency medicine residency program, and HealthPartners Simulation. The organization is led by Felix Ankle, vice president and executive director of HPIER. He previously served as program director of the emergency medicine residency at Regions Hospital.
The institute offers a hybrid longitudinal integrated clerkship for University of Minnesota medical students. This specialized training is completed over ten months and is an alternative to block scheduling.
Employee satisfaction
The survey results show that most HealthPartners employees feel optimistic about their work environment. However, they also say that the pace of work is too fast and that 85% of employees work for less than eight hours daily. HealthPartners is among the lowest in employee satisfaction compared to other companies in the health insurance industry.
When asked about the quality of management, HealthPartners employees give their senior leaders a D-grade. In addition, the CEO and executive team have a D-grade, and employees rate meeting and stock options as D-grades.
